DESCRIPTION:

Keville Enterprises, Inc., a growing Construction Management Consulting and Inspection firm, is seeking candidates for a full-time Construction Manager / Resident Engineer position for the Dallas Fort Worth Airport construction program.  The successful candidate must have at least 10 years of experience as a Construction Manager on building/facility construction projects, with airport terminal experience strongly preferred. 

DUTIES: The duties and responsibilities of the QC Manager include the following:

  • Manages the cost, schedule, and quality of construction projects as the owner's representative.
  • Oversees and manages inspection, scheduling, estimating, and office engineering staff.
  • Coordinates the efforts of design engineers and field engineers to develop optimized solutions for technical issues.
  • Reviews engineering documents during design to ensure constructability and minimize exposure to claims and change orders.
  • Reports to Project Manager or Program Manager, depending on project organization.
  • Shall perform coordination between prime contractor, subcontractors, suppliers, and the Commercial Testing Firm(s).  
  • Shall maintain a rework log for deficiencies and the date when corrected.
  • Shall immediately report any non-complying work as well as individuals who fail to perform their work in a skillful, safe and workmanlike manner.
  • Will review and/or prepare Daily Progress Reports, ensure that Contractor Progress Reports are prepared daily, hold weekly Construction Progress meetings, and shall post meeting minutes.
  • Ensure that construction submittals are reviewed and approved as required by the contract, prior to allowing material on site and work to proceed with these items.
  • Update as-built drawings daily and maintain an up-to-date set on site.
  • Maintain a testing plan and log, ensure that testing is performed in accordance with the contract, review all test reports and inform the PM of all deficiencies as well as a proposal for the recommended corrective action.
  • Certify and sign a statement on each invoice that all work to be paid under the invoice has been completed in accordance with the contract requirements.
  • Perform Punch-out and Pre-final inspection, participate in Final inspections, submit lists of deficiencies to the PM for each inspection, and ensure correction of all deficiencies prior to final inspection.
  • Ensure that all required keys, O&M Manuals, warranty certificates, and as-built drawings are correct, complete and in accordance with the contract prior to being submitted to the owner.
  • Ensure that all applicable special inspections and observations required by the contract are performed and shall coordinate all factory and on-site testing, testing lab personnel, and any other inspection and testing personnel required by the contract.
  • The CM/RE does not have the authority to deviate from plans and specifications without prior approval, in writing from the PM.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

(1) Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field with 10 years of applicable experience; or Associate's degree and 15 years of industry experience on construction projects of similar size (minimum $5M) and scope.

(2) Sound understanding of engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to civil, mechanical, electrical, and/or environmental engineering concerned with the design, layout, and supervision of construction operations.

(3) Ability to review technical engineering specifications and statements of work covering complex and diverse engineering designs or changes.

(4) Thorough knowledge of construction practices/methods as well as construction management.

(5) Ability to write and speak to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present recommendations.

(6) Ability to monitor construction projects to a successful and timely completion.

(7) Knowledge of Primavera SureTrak scheduling software and/or other construction scheduling software packages.

(8) Knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements.
