KEVILLE ENTERPRISES, INC., a WBE/DBE Certified Construction Management and Inspection firm specializing in providing a full spectrum of construction management and support services as an owner's representative on public and private projects has an immediate need for a qualified full time Junior Construction Scheduler to assist with development and monitoring design, property acquisition, permitting, fabrication of materials and other pre-construction schedules as part of the Go Triangle, Durham/Orange Light Rail Transit Program Management Contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing and analyzing CPM schedules including designer; utility relocation; environmental and permitting; long lead time fabrication and other factors that will affect the construction activities on the new light rail system. Under the leadership of the Senior Scheduler, the Project Controls Engineer will:

  • Make recommendations to mitigate delays and complete project status reports on rail/transit aspects of the project along with the construction activities affecting the roadway, bridge, commerce and other facilities that will be affected during construction.
  • Attending schedule-related meetings with the owner, local officials, the public, contractors and field oversight staff
  • Discuss/negotiate schedule issues; attend progress meetings for assigned projects.
  • Review contracts documentation for project phasing, interfaces during the design and construction processes.
  • Monitor the status of project to ensure documentation is submitted according to schedule.
  • Review and verifying project documents and reports for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and processing monthly payment applications.
  • Submit project documentation to management for approval; transmit approved documents to the client.

Excellent communication skills along with good technical knowledge of CPM scheduling will be critical to the successful candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is required. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering, Construction or Construction Management required with 2-3 years of experience with scheduling software Primavera P6 experience is preferred.
  • Substituting experience as an Office Engineer maintaining project records and monitoring of scheduling may be considered as equivalent scheduling experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is required.
  • A good understanding of and experience in construction and program scheduling preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, materials.
  • Heavy Construction / Highway / Bridge / Rail / Facilities experience is preferred.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
